About The Position

This role plays a key part in planning, coordinating, and monitoring engineering activities within a multidisciplinary Engineering Performance environment. The Engineering Project Planner will work closely with engineering teams to manage schedules, track workload and capacity, identify planning risks, and support mitigation actions to keep project activities on track. This position is ideal for an experienced engineering planning professional with strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, ideally with experience in the railway industry and tools such as JIRA, MS Project, Primavera, or IBM Rational EWM.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Experience in Project Planning / Engineering Planning
  • Railway industry experience
  • Bilingual French / English
  • Strong proficiency in JIRA
  • Ability to analyze workload/capacity
  • Schedule risk management experience
  • KPI / visual management experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary engineering environment

  • Proficiency in MS Project or Primavera is an asset
  • Transportation experience is a major asset
  • Knowledge of APSYS is an asset
  • IBM Rational / EWM experience is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the engineering activity plan.
  • Plan development activities for one or several engineering disciplines.
  • Establish sequencing and dependencies between engineering activities.
  • Monitor engineering milestones and project commitments.
  • Maintain the engineering planning information in JIRA.
  • Monitor progress against the engineering plan.
  • Identify potential delays.
  • Analyze schedule deviations.
  • Identify recovery and mitigation actions.
  • Develop alternative planning scenarios when necessary.
  • Identify workload and resource capacity constraints.
  • Analyze engineering team capacity versus planned workload.
  • Highlight potential bottlenecks.
  • Support prioritization of engineering activities.
  • Participate in project planning meetings.
  • Prepare and maintain planning KPIs.
  • Support visual management routines.
  • Maintain and track action plans.
  • Participate in project progress reviews.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and next steps to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain planning data within JIRA.
  • Support Engineering users in JIRA.
  • Ensure data quality and planning consistency.
  • Participate in deployment of the new ADS solution / IBM Rational EWM planned for 2027.
