About The Position

Apple is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Engineering Project Manager (EPM) / Program Manager to drive the execution of critical data and regulatory compliance initiatives in Greater China. Reporting to the manager of Regulatory Management, you will be the operational engine behind our Cross Border Data Transfer (CBDT) filings and data security programs. You will work at the intersection of Engineering, Privacy, Legal, and Government Affairs, translating complex technical data flows into structured project plans and actionable deliverables. Requirements

8+ years of experience in Engineering Project Management, Technical Program Management, or Compliance Operations within the technology sector.
Demonstrated ability to comprehend complex technical constraints and translate them into business impacts.
Strong understanding of enterprise system architectures, cloud infrastructure, complex data flows, and cybersecurity concepts (e.g., encryption, traffic sampling, secure proxies).
Proven ability to manage complex, multi-threaded projects from inception to completion.
Strong capability to lead without authority, drive cross-functional alignment, and hold diverse teams accountable to strict deadlines.
Exceptional organizational capabilities with a meticulous approach to complex problem-solving.
Demonstrated ability to synthesize, track, and execute against hundreds of intersecting technical data points, regulatory requirements, and project dependencies with zero margin for error.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken) is mandatory, with the ability to accurately translate complex technical concepts between both languages.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field.
Working knowledge of data privacy and cybersecurity principles.
Strong technical foundation with the ability to understand cloud infrastructure, data mapping, encryption standards, and software development lifecycles.

Nice To Haves

An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is highly preferred.
Leading large-scale digital transformation / cloud migration projects is a significant plus.
Prior experience project managing government filings, regulatory audits, or compliance certifications (e.g., ISO, SOC, or local Chinese standards) in partnership with Legal or Government Affairs teams.
PMP, Agile/Scrum certification, or privacy certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPT).

Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day project lifecycle for Cross Border Data Transfer (CBDT) security assessments and standard contract filings.
Build and maintain detailed project schedules, track milestones, and ensure timely delivery of technical and legal documentation.
Act as the central operational hub between global Engineering, Privacy, Legal, and regional Government Affairs (GA) teams.
Facilitate working sessions to map technical data flows, cloud architectures, and system integrations required for regulatory submissions.
Drive the execution roadmap for enterprise-wide data localization and facilitate IT infrastructure decoupling, overseeing milestones across different line of business.
Facilitate deep-dive technical discussion to ensure solutions meet both strict regulatory requirement and Apple's privacy standards.
Develop and maintain program dashboards, status reports, and risk trackers.
Assist in preparing presentation materials and synthesizing project updates for to VP/ET-level leadership.
Identify bottlenecks in the regulatory data-gathering and filing process.
Design and implement streamlined workflows to improve the efficiency of how engineering and legal teams collaborate on compliance deliverables.
