About The Position

The Engineering Intern position at AAON provides students with hands-on experience in a real-world HVAC manufacturing environment. Interns will support engineering teams in the design, testing, and improvement of products and processes. This role is designed to develop technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and industry knowledge through practical application. Interns will work closely with experienced engineers and contribute to projects that align with AAON’s innovation and quality standards. Requirements

• Requires current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with CAD software and engineering documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks in a project-based environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to follow technical instructions, manage multiple tasks, and communicate effectively with engineers and technicians.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of at least two years of undergraduate coursework or relevant certifications (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Six Sigma).
• Or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of HVAC components and systems.
• Support testing and validation of products to ensure performance and compliance.
• Create and update technical drawings and documentation using CAD software.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and root cause analysis.
• Collect and analyze data to support engineering decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and R&D.
• Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and technical documentation.
• Observe and follow safety and quality standards in all engineering activities.
