About The Position

AI & Data Platforms (AiDP) is IS&T's engine for AI-powered innovation. The team brings together data, application development, and machine learning - including generative AI - along with data services and customer success functions, to help IS&T build solutions more efficiently and streamline the adoption across Apple. The enterprise data warehouse manages petabytes of data, processes billions of rows of data to provide insights and enable informed business decisions. This team provides data analytics, machine learning, and data science solutions to various Apple business groups. Our team champions providing innovative platforms and solutions to transform how we work. We do this with an outstanding group of engineers, data scientists, engineering managers, and product and program managers. Requirements

• 3+ years of industry experience in a data or software engineering role, with a strong understanding of data warehouse and RDBMS principles and practices.
• 3+ years of managing engineering projects, bringing multiple teams together and marching towards common objectives.
• Demonstrated experience with database design, SQL and optimization techniques, particularly in the context of large-scale data warehousing solutions like Snowflake.
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a technical related field, or international degree or equivalent industry experience.

Nice To Haves

• 1+ years experience managing complex data projects, including those with AI/ML components.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering projects that leverage data for advanced analytics and AI, from inception to production.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity in a high-stakes, fast-moving environment with efficiency, discretion, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Self-motivated, independent, and proactive person with exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities.
• Can quickly triage, prioritize, and lead under pressure.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills, written and verbal, to all levels of an organization.

Responsibilities

• Orchestrating the successful delivery of complex, cross-functional initiatives that drive significant business impact.
• Leading diverse engineering teams across multiple layers of the technology stack, as well as critical cross-functional partners and business units.
• Facilitating requirements brainstorming and design review sessions, providing challenging insights and architectural considerations to engineering discussions.
• Contributing meaningfully to technical strategy and problem-solving.
• Championing the user experience, challenging decisions and advocating for solutions that prioritize the best outcomes for our users.
• Proactively identifying and mitigating risks, removing obstacles, and fostering seamless communication and collaboration across all involved teams.
