About The Position

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for an Engineering Project Lead to join our Engineering department based in Wichita, Kansas. You will be part of a team that supports the on-time, on-cost and on-quality delivery of design and certification documentation to support Airbus aircraft globally. Duties include project leadership in close coordination with Heads of Engineering and Head of Skills within the local and transnational Airbus teams to engage and support a variety of projects. This position supports project execution of these engineering activities through technical project management knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aero, Civil, Mechanical) with a strong curriculum emphasis on structural design and analysis and mechanics of materials.
  • Minimum thirteen (13) years total experience in engineering with airframe structures and/or system installation projects.
  • Position requires in-depth knowledge of technical principles of engineering. Applied knowledge of technical documentation, techniques and procedures.
  • A strong computer background, including MS Office application experience (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite application experience (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail).
  • Authorized to Work in the US
  • Working knowledge of all Airbus Structures.

Responsibilities

  • Support development of resource planning and budget alignment for organization's annual operating plan.
  • Accountable for developing project budgets, securing workload and targets, and communicating attributes related to business performance including travel and subcontracting to management.
  • Able to establish project requirements and set commitments for self and global teams. This includes internal and external teams
  • Determine and pursue courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
  • Facilitate Design Reviews with Chief Engineering and Technical Representatives to support program milestones.
  • Develop, report and analyze KPIs to internal and external customers.
