About The Position

The Supervisor of Field Services shall administer scheduling and tracking of Beckwith Systems Engineering (BSE) projects from lead development and proposal preparation through contract receipt and acknowledgement to design, material procurement, manufacturing, factory acceptance testing, shipping, billing and final installation and commissioning. This role involves coordinating and scheduling personnel and consultants for various project phases, managing documentation, equipment shipment, and assisting with customer terms and conditions and budget preparation. The position also requires managing the bid package development, proposal preparation, and liaising with customers, sub-contractors, and management throughout the project lifecycle. A key aspect is orchestrating internal activities such as procurement, scheduling, and testing once orders are won, and monitoring the procurement of outside devices and project milestones. The role requires close coordination with multiple departments including Material and Engineering procurement, Manufacturing, Design Engineering, and ensuring all relevant personnel are informed of project details and milestones.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Experience or knowledge in various phases of proposal preparation, planning, organizing.
  • Ability to work with internal staff and personnel from other departments.
  • Strong sense of self direction, extreme organizational skills, self-motivated, proactive, and must be able to prioritize and multitask.
  • Familiarity with the current laws, regulations and commercial aspects of importing and exporting, such as knowledge of letters of credit, Incoterms, penalty clauses, etc.
  • Ability to develop high-level knowledge of the company’s products and services, and their application in the generation, transmission, and distribution of electric power.
  • Familiarity with the industry terms, such as UL, IEC, ANSI, IEEE and CE, and local laboratory certificate requirements.
  • Familiarity with SAP, Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule BSE personnel and consultants for service trips, trainings, commissionings, and Engineering design or reviews.
  • Obtain required documents for on-site services in a timely manner.
  • Schedule and ship equipment when required for on-site services.
  • Assist in resolution of customer’s Terms and Conditions as necessary.
  • Manage proper invoicing of services upon completion of BSE projects.
  • Assist the manager in preparation of budgets for BSE department.
  • Comply with all work rules, including safety and attendance policies.
  • Review bid documents and distribute to commercial, technical and others responsible to assist in preparing the proposal.
  • Manage the bid package development, including bid and performance bonds.
  • Manage proposal preparation for systems quotes and bids as necessary with internal resources.
  • Coordinate the tasks and projects for BSE Staff, Consultants, and Contractors.
  • Pursue each opportunity with the responsible Regional Sales & Applications Manager and respective independent sales Representative after proposals/quotes are sent out.
  • Liaise with customers, sub-contractors, prime contractors, and Hubbell/Beckwith Management from proposal generation through project completion.
  • Orchestrate coordination of the project/order by coordinating all internal activities including procurement, scheduling, internal testing, and witness tests if required.
  • Monitor procurement of outside purchased devices, scheduling and flow of work, targeted milestones, testing, and certification if required.
  • Coordinate with Material and Engineering procurement, Manufacturing, Design Engineering, Drawing Preparation, Drawings for Customer review, Trips – site visit, walk through, installation, commissioning, training, Factory Acceptance Test, Site Acceptance Test, Shipping Logistics and Billing.
  • Ensure all necessary personnel including Regional Sales & Applications Managers, and representatives are copied on all project schedule details and completed milestones.
