About The Position

The Night Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of the hotel’s public areas during overnight hours. Your usual schedule will be about 10 PM to 6 AM, although it may shift due to business needs. This role ensures that all public floors, service area floors, and restaurant furnishings are thoroughly cleaned and well-maintained to meet hotel standards, providing a welcoming environment for guests and staff.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of cleaning methodologies, including safe chemical usage and proper floor equipment handling.
  • Ability to communicate occasionally with guests or colleagues.
  • Capacity to work independently and manage time effectively to complete tasks within the scheduled timeframe.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and proper reporting procedures for incidents or suspicious behavior.
  • Adaptability to changing schedules and priorities, responding to the needs of the hotel and guests.
  • Basic maintenance knowledge and understanding of when to report issues to management.
  • Commitment to supporting team members and contributing to a positive work environment.
  • A high school or equivalent education is preferred.
  • Previous floor cleaning experience preferred.
  • Associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
  • Attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings are required.
  • Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with Crowne Plaza Lansing rules and regulations for the safe and effective operations of the Hotel’s facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain floors in common areas of the hotel, including lobby areas, fitness center, pool, public restrooms, restaurant, kitchen, and backhall service areas.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors to ensure a clean and presentable appearance.
  • Perform weekly cleaning of restaurant furnishings, including tables, chairs, windows, mirrors, and glass.
  • Perform spot cleaning of stains on carpet in public spaces as needed.
  • Operate and maintain floor care equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers.
  • Work as part of a team and communicate with other departments to ensure excellent quality and service.
  • Engage with guests and fellow associates using D.A.R.E. to Connect behaviors.
  • Handle and store chemicals according to hotel regulations and local legislative requirements.
  • Immediately report any health and safety incidents, security breaches, or suspicious behavior to the supervisor.
  • Assist with deep cleaning projects as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
