General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. With limited supervision, this position is responsible for supporting GA-ASI's Mechanical Systems engineering team as a liaison to manufacturing and procurements to expedite the design and development process. In this role, the Engineering Manufacturing Liaison (EML) will coordinate prototype and initial production builds of advanced landing gear, actuation, mechanism, and ground support equipment design covering component builds through aircraft integration and test. Collaboration will include Subject Matter Experts (SME) within the Mechanical Systems engineering team, engineering manufacturing prototype shops, manufacturing production shops, purchasing and Subcontract Administrators, suppliers (including external manufacturing shops, outside processing shops, and subcontractors), quality, integration, and flight test facilities. The EML will evaluate and resolve complex engineering related production problems related to manufacturing, design, procurement, quality and material engineering. Additionally, the EML will serve as an external spokesperson through correspondence with vendors and subcontractors to ensure delivery dates and company objectives are met. This role exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments and develops solutions to complex problems. This position involves the exercise of independent judgment and discretion about matters of significance.
