As the Engineering Manager, Web, you will lead a group of talented backend and web engineers to develop impactful features and scalable platforms for our Merchants. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to execute a strategic roadmap. Your leadership will ensure the delivery of exceptional user experiences across mobile and web platforms while also shaping the team’s technical vision for the future. The team is also responsible for the quality and reliability of the web platform that multiple teams build on top of. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a passion for building user-centric solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Requirements

  • B.S., M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in people management leading full stack product teams
  • 8+ years of industry experience
  • You bring a strong product sense and can be a thought partner with cross-functional peers
  • Experience selecting and adopting web technologies to improve testing and performance
  • A customer-centric mindset and will apply that to building out platform services
  • Growth mindset - you're eager to expand your skill set and excited to carve out your career path in a hyper-growth setting
  • Adaptability, resiliency, and ability to thrive in ambiguity - things can change quickly, and you'll need to help the team evolve

Responsibilities

  • Build experiences core to the day to day operations of our merchants.
  • Improve page performance and the reliability of our releases
  • Work with a variety of cross-functional partners from product, design, analytics, engineering and S&O
  • Provide architectural guidance and professional development for a team of 9+
  • Encourage innovation, teamwork, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, and outside-of-the-box thinking
  • Scale the team by recruiting, retaining and developing highly talented engineers across different disciplines
