About The Position

We seek an Engineering Manager, Power Electronics Electrical Design based out of our office at 2151 E. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, IN 46902. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. This position requires domestic and international travel required, as needed, up to 10%. Responsible for staffing and managing a team of engineering specialists in electronics, specifically for use in power electronics applications. Oversee the technical execution of the team and delivery of the project timeline and objectives. Ensure that BorgWarner’s electronics products are properly specified, designed, and tested to meet customer performance requirements. Provide technical oversite of power electronics electrical hardware design engineers, electronics electrical engineers, EMC design engineers, and the electrical controller design engineers within the power electronics hardware team. Plan, direct, and coordinate efforts of the power electronics team to meet internal and external customer requirements. Help deliver flawless design and launch / commercialization processes. Manage and prioritize workload of the team and related outside resources. Maintain visibility of workload to engineering organization. Develop the team, including talent management system cycle processes. Evaluate quality of work, responsiveness, and communication and make adjustments as needed. Create standard work processes, and design templates and guidelines for power electronics / electronics products. Assess and coordinate training according to company and employee growth needs. Create and maintain power electronics product and technology roadmaps. Communicate and enforce safe work procedures. Identify and ensure closure of safety issues (suggestions, inspection, and investigation findings, hazards and controls, GSSF actions) and their corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or closely related field
  • 96 months of experience in job offered or related position in electronics engineering.
  • 36 months of experience in power electronics design
  • Experience with automotive environmental and durability requirements
  • Experience with NX or comparable CAD applications
  • Experience performing FEA simulations using ANSYS or a comparable analysis tool
  • Experience with problem-solving and conducting technical debugging
  • Experience with requirements gathering and management tools such as Doors
  • Experience with requirements compliance planning and testing (V Diagram fulfillment)
