About The Position

Autodesk is seeking an Engineering Manager join the Platform Infrastructure team within Data Platform & Services. The Platform Infrastructure team is responsible for architecting & provisioning secure, multi-tenant infrastructure for Autodesk's Big Data platform. As the Engineering Manager of this team, you will play a critical role in enabling teams across Autodesk to make better use of data. You will have the opportunity to build and mentor a team of strong engineers to up-level our tooling and services that impact all users of our multi-tenant data platform. Ideally, you enjoy the challenge of balancing speed of execution with quality while building a product that teams globally distributed can use with ease. You should be as enthusiastic about building and motivating a team as you are about the challenging technical problems that you and your team will solve.

Requirements

  • You have 3+ years of Engineering Management experience in building, managing, and leading highly productive teams
  • Problem solver with excellent written and interpersonal skills; ability to make sound, complex decisions in a fast-paced, technical environment
  • Strong experience with public cloud providers, preferably AWS
  • Hands-on experience with modern data platform tech stacks: CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker, Spark, Presto/Trino, Hive, Airflow, and BI and Visualization tools, EKS etc.
  • You excel at building roadmaps and can develop a long-term team vision in partnership with stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead, grow, and motivate a diverse team of 7-9 engineers
  • Build and scale a data infrastructure that powers batch and real-time data processing of billions of records daily
  • Help drive initiatives to improve automation and observability of our data infrastructure
  • Establish high technical standards through processes and culture
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, product managers, and customers to roadmap and prioritize the work for your team of engineers
  • Mentor and help engineers to plan and execute their career paths while also jumping into the code as needed
  • Meet with the rest of the engineering leadership to align engineering-wide priorities

  • Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package.
  • For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $145,800 and $235,950.
  • Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
  • In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
