About The Position

We are looking for a hands-on tech lead/ manager to lead a new team, ensuring the reliability and scalability of our cloud-based systems. This role requires hands-on leadership and strong people management skills, focusing on guiding a team of engineers to manage and optimize our infrastructure. Expertise in AWS and Kubernetes is essential, along with the ability to mentor, delegate, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in managing, leading, and inspiring a team of engineers, including hiring, retaining, and managing performance.
  • 10+ years of work experience in a software engineering role, with proven technical leadership skills and expertise in designing scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proficient in agile team software development and strong project management, delivering complex projects within defined timelines and resource constraints.
  • Adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams, communicating effectively, and aligning efforts to achieve common goals.
  • Experience with Python or Go, and familiarity with backend development flow, including server-side framework and database system.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Kubernetes, AWS and Terraform
  • Experience with service mesh such as Istio
  • Hands-on leadership experience managing platform teams in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
  • Experience implementing scalable and reliable solutions using modern cloud and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and set up technical vision to raise our bar on reliability, scalability, and availability of our global infrastructure.
  • Manage cross-functional collaboration with product management and other engineering teams to initiate, drive critical business initiatives and deliver with high quality
  • Hands-on involvement to guide the team (coding, design review, root-causing production issues), at the same time, ensuring engineers have the support and leadership needed to execute.
  • Build and lead the team through effective recruitment, mentoring, and leadership.
