About The Position

GTI designs, engineers, and manufactures complex modular systems supporting energy storage, power generation, data center infrastructure, defense, and industrial markets. GTI delivers engineered-to-order, containerized, and modular solutions manufactured in-house, requiring strong mechanical design, electrical integration, and disciplined execution. To support scale, GTI leverages global engineering resources, including LATAM-based CAD Technicians, Drafters, Mechanical Design Engineers, and Electrical Engineers. GTI is seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Manager to lead and develop a distributed team of LATAM-based engineering resources. This role is heavily focused on mechanical engineering leadership, design quality, and execution discipline, while also owning electrical engineering integration and oversight. The Engineering Manager is accountable for technical output, team performance, design standards, and delivery across mechanical and electrical scopes. This role serves as the primary bridge between GTI’s U.S.-based engineering leadership and LATAM execution teams, ensuring work is accurate, manufacturable, on schedule, and aligned with GTI engineering standards. This is a hands-on technical leadership role, not a people-only manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • 10+ years of engineering experience in industrial, modular, or engineered-to-order environments
  • 5+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams
  • Strong mechanical engineering background with hands-on design experience
  • Experience managing remote or distributed engineering teams
  • Ability to review and approve mechanical and electrical designs
  • Strong communication and technical leadership skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting modular systems, enclosures, energy infrastructure, or industrial equipment
  • Experience working with CAD teams and drafting resources
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks and SolidWorks Electrical
  • Experience integrating mechanical and electrical systems
  • Prior experience working with offshore or LATAM engineering teams
  • Exposure to manufacturing, fabrication, or production environments

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop LATAM-based CAD Technicians, Drafters, Mechanical Design Engineers, and Electrical Engineers
  • Set clear expectations for quality, delivery, and technical rigor
  • Assign work, balance workloads, and prioritize tasks across multiple programs
  • Coach and mentor engineers to improve design capability and execution
  • Conduct performance feedback, skills development, and technical guidance
  • Own mechanical design execution across modular systems, enclosures, and industrial structures
  • Review and approve mechanical designs, drawings, and layouts for accuracy and manufacturability
  • Ensure proper application of structural design principles, materials, tolerances, and fabrication methods
  • Drive design-for-manufacturability and design-for-assembly best practices
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to align designs with build strategy
  • Provide leadership and oversight for electrical engineering deliverables
  • Ensure electrical designs integrate cleanly with mechanical layouts and enclosure designs
  • Review electrical schematics, layouts, and documentation for completeness and consistency
  • Coordinate mechanical–electrical interface points and resolve integration issues
  • Establish and enforce engineering standards, templates, and best practices
  • Ensure consistent use of CAD tools, drawing standards, revision control, and documentation
  • Maintain quality control over engineering output from LATAM resources
  • Support engineering change management and design revisions
  • Partner with U.S.-based Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program teams
  • Translate project requirements into clear engineering work packages for LATAM teams
  • Support project timelines, milestones, and risk identification
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for complex design challenges
  • Manage distributed teams across time zones with clear communication and structure
  • Ensure alignment between U.S.-based stakeholders and LATAM engineering execution
  • Drive accountability without micromanagement
  • Create repeatable workflows for offshore engineering support
  • Review complex designs for technical risk, cost drivers, and manufacturability concerns
  • Identify issues early and drive corrective action
  • Ensure designs support compliance, safety, and customer requirements
