Engineering Manager, Commerce

As an Engineering Manager for the Commerce team at Sovrn, you will be responsible for the technical operation and evolution of the affiliate marketing business. You will manage a cross-functional team of engineers, working closely with Product Managers to balance new feature development with operational work and technical debt. This role requires strong leadership and mentorship skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams. The successful candidate will have experience in engineering management, a passion for delivering great products, and proficiency in English and preferably Italian.

• Engineering management and mentorship of a cross-functional, agile engineering team
• Working closely with the US team on joint projects and initiatives
• Hiring, on-boarding, mentoring, and retaining talent in a diverse team of engineers
• Understanding and communicating the business domain and how it affects requirement and implementation details
• Developing, executing, and influencing the product roadmap in partnership with Product Managers
• Tracking and improving key engineering metrics
• Empowering the engineering team to design, implement, deliver, and support applications that push the business forward
• Improving code quality and fostering a culture of strong engineering design, delivery, and quality
• Strategically identifying technical debt and developing a plan for prioritization
• Working with other engineering leaders to continuously improve development processes
• Breaking down a full project plan into incremental deliveries and tracking the team's work against those steps
• Experience with incident management and workflows
• Experience with Kanban, Scrum, and Agile development processes
• Experience driving operational maturity (on-call, alerting, monitoring)
