Engineering Manager

The job overview for this position is to own the mission, execution, morale, and code quality of a team of software engineers. The role requires partnering with product managers to maintain and execute against the product roadmap, removing roadblocks, and implementing process improvements. Additionally, the job involves actively building community and culture within the engineering organization, developing and coaching the team, and championing innovation at ZipRecruiter. The minimum qualifications include 6+ years of experience in a fast-paced software development environment, 2+ years of experience as an engineering leader, and experience developing high traffic full stack web or data applications.

• Own the mission, execution, morale, and code quality of your team
• Partner effectively with product managers to maintain and execute against the product roadmap
• Serve as a force multiplier for your team by removing roadblocks, identifying and implementing process improvements, and delegating effectively
• Actively build community and culture throughout the engineering organization
• Continually develop, coach, motivate, and improve your team, leading by example

• 6+ years of experience in a fast-paced software development environment at scale
• 2+ years of experience as an engineering leader
• Experience developing high traffic full stack web or data applications
• BS/MS/PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, related technical field (preferred)
• 3+ years of engineering management experience (preferred)
• Demonstrated experience innovating novel approaches and solutions to ambiguous problems (preferred)
