Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Mechanical or Computer Engineering program or related field of study
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literate in word & spreadsheet programs
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with external suppliers is an asset
  • Experience heading process/maintenance meetings with necessary associates is an asset
  • Manufacturing experience involving Injection Moulding Machines is an asset
  • Valid Driver’s License is an asset
  • Knowledge and experience with writing Build Standards/Standard Operating Procedures is an asset
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; AutoCAD Light and SpinFire

Responsibilities

  • Define and conduct the necessary steps and procedures to complete the projects or assignments as directed by the Engineering Manager, Program Manager or Maintenance Manager
  • Create and document all procedures and methods required by the project
  • Conduct regular follow-up meetings with the Team
  • Report out to Management as to the status of the tasks
  • Visit external suppliers to support program trials and activities
  • Able to work in Engineeirng or Maintenance Depts as assigned
  • Perform data evaluation that support continuing improvements and implement actions
  • Work with Maintenance in refence to equipment or software programming
  • Perform work on additional projects as directed by the Program Manager as assigned
  • Meet aggressive project time lines (generally very tight)
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promoting safety in the workplace
  • Comply with the requirements of CTPAT/PIP
  • Conduct business in an ethical manner in compliance with the Magna Code of Conduct
  • Participate in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Adhere to applicable quality systems and IATF 16949 standards
  • Work within the guidelines of the Plastcoat Employee Handbook
  • Ensure work area is kept neat and organized
  • Maintain work area in accordance with the principles of 5S and operate daily within these standards
  • Perform other duties as required
