About The Position

The Engineering Leadership Development Program (ELDP) is a three-year rotational program designed to accelerate the development and career of highly-motivated early career professionals who aspire to achieve their leadership potential. This is accomplished through challenging and rewarding rotational assignments, technical and leadership training, advanced education, leadership opportunities and exposure, and mentorship. Participants will gain diverse experiences within Engineering areas and disciplines through three onsite, one-year rotations with increasing responsibility. The program also offers networking opportunities, strategic project initiatives, and flexibility for participants to have input on their second and third rotational assignments and geographic location, dependent on business need. A key requirement is the completion of a technical Master's Degree Program, with robust tuition assistance provided by BAE Systems. The program involves travel to various sector locations nationwide, with the first rotation and final placement in Sterling Heights, MI or Minneapolis, MN. Each participant is assigned a mentor for guidance in career development and off-program placement. Personal growth is fostered through an annual leadership development conference and a technical and leadership curriculum. Rotational examples include Mechanical Design Engineering, Test/Verification Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Systems Engineering. An early start option may be available for eligible candidates prior to the official June cohort start date.
