The Role We are seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to join our Inference API team. In this role, you will lead a new team dedicated to helping evolve our Inference APIs to enable a state of the art inference stack. You will help ship enterprise-level features, align on evolving API formats, and help improve specific modalities (audio, OCR, etc). You’ll work to scale the team as they grow, help prioritize and support work in a fast paced environment, and build a healthy team culture. This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to shape how Mistral’s technology is adopted globally and unlock large business opportunities

Requirements

Experience building and managing engineering teams.
Proficiency in Python and at least one web framework (FastAPI, Django, Flask).
Proficiency in C#, Golang, TypeScript and at least one web framework.
Experience with large-scale distributed systems.
Experience working with cross-functional teams, such as Product, Design, and Business.
Knowledge of databases, caching mechanisms, and messaging systems.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ownership mindset and ability to ship products end-to-end.
Excellent communication skills and a low-ego, team-first attitude.

Own the full software development process, from design to deployment.

Collaborate with stakeholders across Engineering, Product, and Design.
Support team growth through hiring, onboarding, and mentorship.
