Location: Westchester, IL Workplace type: Hybrid We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious student to join our Global Engineering team for summer 2026! As the Engineering Knowledge Management Intern, you will support initiatives that enhance how technical knowledge is captured, organized, and shared across the engineering organization. This role offers exposure to real-world process documentation, learning design, and collaboration with subject matter experts to improve knowledge accessibility and retention. Uniquely positioned within Global Engineering, this intern will gain broad visibility into many of the manufacturing processes and equipment used across Ingredion’s production sites; providing a valuable foundation for understanding how our operations work and evolve.

Requirements

  • Progress toward a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Knowledge Management, Instructional Design, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with digital content creation tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Articulate, SharePoint).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Reliable transportation required to get to and from the facility each workday.
  • Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Ingredion does not intend to sponsor work visas with respect to this position or to provide this position as OPT or CPT.
  • Be a currently enrolled student in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program. If currently enrolled in an undergrad status, must have completed at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior or non-graduating senior.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire and apply base knowledge of unit operations and procedures.
  • Assist in developing and refining documentation for engineering processes and standards.
  • Support the creation of digital learning materials, including scripts, visuals, and interactive content.
  • Conduct interviews with subject matter experts to capture critical knowledge and best practices.
  • Help organize and maintain the knowledge repository to ensure content is current and accessible.
  • Analyze usage data and feedback to recommend improvements to knowledge-sharing tools and practices.
  • Use internal resources to learn more about Ingredion business and unit operations.
