About The Position

AIS, a division of 1HMX, is a global leader in Human Machine eXperience (HMX) solutions, creating innovative, high-performance products that shape how people interact with technology. Our work spans electro-mechanical assemblies, VR components, infection control interfaces, and industrial/medical display systems. We’re looking for motivated Engineering Interns to join us this summer and contribute to electro-mechanical design and manufacturing projects. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, gain exposure to advanced technologies, and apply what you’ve learned in school to real-world product development.

Requirements

• Completed at least 2 years of engineering coursework.
• Some experience with a mix of: SolidWorks (or similar CAD), schematics/circuit design, LabVIEW/Python/C/C++, or Arduino/sensors.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook).
• Must complete pre-employment screening (background check + drug screen).
• U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status required due to federal contract/export control requirements.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to electro-mechanical design and manufacturing projects.
• Work alongside experienced engineers.
• Gain exposure to advanced technologies.
• Apply learned skills to real-world product development.
• Support electro-mechanical design, including drawings and documentation for cable assemblies and related components.
• Assist with electrical design and test engineering, including circuit design support, schematic updates, and test process development.
• Develop technology demonstrators such as touchscreens, OnGlass controls, and GUI demonstrators.
• Contribute to test and automation development, including modernizing production/engineering test architecture (LabVIEW).
• Support continuous improvement and new product development through design, automation, and process development.
