Engineering Internship - Water Resources
About The Position
As a summer 2027 engineering student intern with our Water Resources team, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. You will work closely with other team members and engineers on client projects related to hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for stormwater and flood control management, floodplain management, and scour and erosion control. You’ll provide project design utilizing AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS/ArcPRO, HECRAS, HECHMS, or PCSWMM depending on the project. You’ll assist with performing technical analysis, preparing construction documents, performing research, and writing technical reports. Depending on the projects, you may also have the opportunity to travel to job sites for field observation.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong attention to detail
Nice To Haves
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS preferred
