About The Position

As an engineering student intern with Olsson's Rail Water Resources team, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. You will work closely with other team members and engineers on client projects related to hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for stormwater and flood control management, floodplain management, and scour and erosion control. You’ll provide project design utilizing AutoCAD, MicroStation, or GIS/ArcMap. You’ll assist with performing technical analysis, preparing construction documents, performing research, and writing technical reports. Depending on the projects, you may also have the opportunity to travel to job sites for field observation.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering (civil engineering preferred)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong attention to detail
