About The Position

Primer is seeking full stack software engineering interns for their Spring/Summer 2027 program. This internship offers a unique opportunity to rebuild the education stack from the ground up, engaging in interdisciplinary projects across frontend, backend, systems, and hardware. As a startup, Primer provides interns with significant ownership and the chance to work on mission-critical tasks. The internship is full-time and based in their San Francisco office, with a preferred commitment of 4 to 8 months. Interns will collaborate with various teams, tackle meaningful projects with direct impact on teachers, students, and families, and benefit from mentorship and a culture of excellence.

Requirements

Solid foundation in engineering principles and ability to apply them effectively.
Passion for education and interest in redesigning the school experience.
Ability to figure things out and solve ambiguous problems.
Care for details and pride in building exceptional software.
Experience with TypeScript, NodeJS, GraphQL, Prisma, Postgres, NextJS, React, and Relay is a plus.
