This Engineering Intern position is a full-time summer role located in Middleburg Heights, Ohio. The intern will participate in a cross-functional team, contributing to the production of 3D models, technical prints, data sheets, and technical packages for customer submittal and component production. The role involves inspecting and documenting component dimensions, understanding tolerances, interpreting technical standards for Nuclear Power Plant mechanical items, resolving technical discrepancies, and developing procedures and inspection plans in accordance with the Nuclear Quality Assurance program. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, or Engineering Technology from an accredited university.

  • Demonstrated mechanical knowledge and understanding to support inspection, testing and machining departments.
  • Must have good communication skills and be willing to work as a team player.
  • Ability to work on a variety of technical problems of diverse scope in an imaginative and practical ways and evaluate alternative solutions that may require coordination across multiple teams.
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in a cross-functional team to produce 3D models, technical prints, data sheets, and technical packages for submittal to customer and facilitate the production of components.
  • Inspect and document dimensions and characteristics of various components using metrology instrumentation, gauges and software-based inspection methods.
  • Establish and understand tolerances based on component design and function to identify the design and configuration of obsolete samples of mechanical items.
  • Review and interpret standards, quality requirements, and technical information related to Nuclear Power Plant mechanical items.
  • Identify and resolves issues and technical discrepancies.
  • Develop procedures and inspection plans.
  • Performs tasks in accordance with our Nuclear Quality Assurance program.
  • Will also support other projects and initiatives as necessary.
