Swagelok offers a comprehensive 12-week summer internship program designed to provide interns with valuable hands-on experience through meaningful projects, fostering both personal and professional development. Interns will apply classroom learning to real-world engineering challenges, focusing on projects related to continuous improvement, quality enhancement, cost optimization, or safety advancements in processes and products. The program aims to develop technical and interpersonal skills, enhance problem-solving abilities, and encourage collaboration. Interns will also participate in networking events, business learning sessions, engage with associate resource groups, take facility tours, receive professional development, and participate in community volunteering. Direct engagement with executives and industry experts is a key component, along with opportunities for resume reviews and mock interviews to prepare for future career prospects at Swagelok.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program; Bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical, Industrial & Systems, Electrical, Automation or related field
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Able to work 10-12 weeks consecutively during the summer
  • Open to working one of our Northeast Ohio locations: Solon, Strongsville, Eastlake, Highland Hills, or Willoughby without relocation support
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift, push, stoop, or carry weight >= 35 lbs.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl.
  • May be required to pass pre-employment and annual Vision Acuity tests.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and apply company policies and procedures related to systems and processes supporting product performance
  • Manufacture, assemble, test and/or develop new or existing products
  • Properly document product manufacturing and/or assembly processes
  • Write, edit and evaluate technical documentation including test reports, lab results and other process/capability studies
  • Use data to drive continuous improvement solutions and process improvements
  • Use various software programs/packages including Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, Infinity QS, SAP, etc.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills through teamwork and collaboration
