About The Position

Under the direction of Engineering management, the Engineering Intern provides engineering and technical support for engineering tasks. The role supports engineering programs, design development, manufacturing and installation activities, and continuous improvement efforts at ZIM Aircraft Cabin Solutions. The intern is accountable to the applicable department Manager.

Requirements

• Major must be in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering, or Engineering/Manufacturing Technology.
• Must have completed two years of college coursework toward a bachelor’s degree.
• Demonstrable proficiency with personal computer systems and Microsoft Office.
• Must be a self-starter, highly motivated, and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Must have good oral, written, and organizational skills.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to maneuver around in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to lift and carry 15 lbs.
• Must be able to sit and work effectively at a computer for extended periods.
• Must have visual acuity of at least 20/40 corrected.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to engineering personnel across various disciplines for engineering programs involving ZIM Aircraft Cabin Solutions.
• Assist in developing and producing design data needed for the manufacture, assembly, and installation of aircraft modifications and components.
• Provide technical support to ZIM Aircraft Cabin Solutions manufacturing during the manufacturing and installation phases of company-developed designs.
• Provide input and suggestions for continuous improvement of department procedures, controls, workflows, and systems.
• Become familiar with ZIM Aircraft Cabin Solutions internal policies and procedures.
• Support other Engineering groups as workload requirements dictate.
• Participate on existing cross-functional focus teams and process teams, and assist with implementing engineering objectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
