Engineering Intern (Mechanical/Paper)
About The Position
BiOrigin Specialty Products is seeking motivated individuals to join their team as Engineering Interns for the Summer of 2026 at their Gouvernuer, NY facility. Interns will gain practical experience in manufacturing and maintenance departments, working on real-life assignments that test theoretical knowledge. The internship includes on-the-job training, exposure to project management, and development of transferable skills. Interns will assist in promoting safe operations and ensuring the safety of all personnel. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver, exhibit company core values, be a change agent for continuous improvement, and be a self-starter who can analyze data and learn quickly. Responsibilities
- Perform data collection, analysis, and interpretation to develop action plans.
- Assist in writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and manuals.
- Identify opportunities to create and implement continuous improvement projects.
- Extend support to other departments as needed.
- Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
- Support the team with vendor relations and cross functional department communications.
- Assist with the installation of parts on mill assets.
- Conduct bench testing on safety devices throughout the mill.
- Exposure to the display development in manufacturing analytics software, PARCview.
- Update/create process flow and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) using AutoCAD.
