About The Position

SPX Technologies is offering a paid summer internship with its engineering team. The Engineering Lab Intern will support the Research and Development Engineering team’s continuous improvement efforts and gain hands-on experience collaborating with engineering experts. Work may include basic engineering tasks involving design, analysis, testing, and product and equipment development.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another related engineering field.
• Must have completed the second year of engineering studies.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Strong problem-solving skills and self-direction.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; the company will not provide sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with technical drawings.
• Mechanical aptitude for machines and tools.
• Hands-on technical experience with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Support the engineering team in carrying out technical activities for assigned projects.
• Prepare mock-ups, conduct process testing, and assist with equipment qualifications.
• Learn and use test and measurement equipment for product testing involving mechanical or electronic systems.
• Improve the efficiency of the laboratory workspace.
• Lead other projects as assigned or proposed.
