About The Position

Ascend Performance Materials is hiring Summer 2027 Engineering Interns to apply engineering and safety principles in chemical and/or polymer manufacturing environments. Interns may rotate between sites to gain experience with different processes and operations. Each intern will complete an assigned project under the guidance of experienced engineers, with opportunities to reduce waste, increase efficiency, streamline processes, troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause failure analysis of operating problems, identify cost savings, and update procedures. Interns will assist an engineer or engineering manager with projects in manufacturing, production, process technology, process design, or maintenance and reliability. These teams provide technical guidance for manufacturing operations, improve process capability and capacity planning, develop scientific knowledge and process design alternatives, support capital projects, and improve the reliability of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems. The role is on site daily and is not remote. Locations include Alvin, Texas; Pensacola, Florida; Decatur, Alabama; and Foley, Alabama. Students who are not local (within 50 miles) are provided housing assistance, and candidates must have reliable transportation to and from the site each day.
