About The Position

Constellation is seeking highly motivated engineering students for paid Engineering Internships in 2027 at the Bethpage Energy Center in Hicksville, New York. The internship will last approximately 10 weeks, from June 7, 2027, through August 13, 2027, and will be performed in person. Interns will work on specific projects to gain real-world, hands-on experience, working independently under an assigned supervisor and technical mentor.

This supervised position is intended for a college student seeking a career in the power industry. The intern will apply and enhance their knowledge of power plant operations while supporting plant staff and carrying out assigned tasks. The role follows a normal day shift and reports to the Operations Manager.

Requirements

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering at an accredited college or university.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States now and in the future for any company.
• Willingness to work outdoors and in field locations in a hands-on environment.
• Willingness to adhere to plant safety standards, procedures, and practices.
• Good comprehension of basic engineering practices.
• Good problem-solving and analytical ability.
• Strong computer skills, especially with spreadsheet and word-processing programs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to be flexible and work harmoniously with others in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to self-start and manage multiple simultaneous tasks and priorities.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.

• Junior standing.

Responsibilities

• Use plant data systems to access equipment and performance reliability information.
• Update maintenance documentation and work management systems.
• Assist plant staff with special projects as needed.
• Enter plant asset information into Maximo.
• Report to the site Operations Manager and follow day-to-day written and verbal instructions.
