About The Position

The Engineering Intern provides hands-on mechanical and electrical engineering support for plant equipment, systems, and capital installations. The role involves developing and reviewing engineering designs and documentation, ensuring designs and installations meet applicable codes and standards, and communicating project progress with plant and corporate stakeholders. The intern must comply with customer, safety, quality management, and environmental management requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on mechanical and electrical engineering support for plant equipment, systems, and capital installations.
• Develop and review mechanical designs, P&IDs, electrical schematics, control narratives, and equipment specifications.
• Ensure designs and installations meet applicable codes and standards, including NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 79, OSHA, and machine safeguarding requirements.
• Maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and change control.
• Communicate project status, risks, and results clearly to plant leadership and corporate stakeholders.
• Comply with applicable customer, safety, ISO/IATF 16949 QMS, and ISO 14001 EMS requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
