About The Position

Bimbo Bakeries USA’s Summer Internship Program gives students the opportunity to participate in fast-paced, real-world projects intended to develop strategic project management, analytical problem-solving, and managerial leadership skills. Mentors guide student collaborations and project work, and interns are exposed to multiple functional areas and learning and development opportunities with organizational leaders. The Engineering Intern supports maintenance and facility improvement initiatives through data analysis, process studies, project execution, drawing updates, spare-parts initiatives, and predictive maintenance work.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
• Able to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and thrive in a team environment.
• Maintain the confidentiality of personal or company information encountered.
• Excellent organizational, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Willing to work at least 30 hours per week.

• Previous co-op or internship experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data to identify cost-saving and waste-reduction opportunities by fully utilizing corrective maintenance systems.
• Conduct process studies to identify opportunities to improve maintenance line effectiveness.
• Collect, analyze, and respond to data to leverage maintenance systems and implement improved controls.
• Assist with the design and execution of projects involving systems and the plant floor, including effective down-day planning.
• Update facility drawings to include main plant steam, air, HVAC, and water lines.
• Develop spare-parts initiatives, including critical spare parts and parts-process management.
• Assist in developing and implementing the predictive maintenance program.
