About The Position

Orbion Space Technology is seeking students for a full-time engineering internship in Houghton, Michigan, for Summer 2027. Interns work closely with a mentor and other employees to apply their knowledge and develop their skills on impactful projects. Candidates should demonstrate academic commitment and motivation to apply classroom learning outside the classroom. Interviews begin in December 2026.

Requirements

• Must meet the definition of a US Person.
• Must be currently enrolled at a college or university and pursuing a bachelor's degree in aerospace, engineering, physics, or mathematics.
• At least 3 months of applied engineering experience; internship, laboratory, personal, or team project experience is applicable.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with team members to creatively solve problems.
• Be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple assignments.

Nice To Haves

• GPA of 3.5 or above.
• At least 6 months of experience applying technical skills outside the classroom, such as laboratory work, research, extracurricular project teams, volunteering, personal projects, or prior internship or work experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of engineers to define requirements, and test and implement solutions independently.
• Evaluate and analyze data; conduct experiments; develop models and simulations; and document processes and results.
• Manage multiple assignments while maintaining attention to detail.
