Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
• Hands-on experience with shop tools, rapid prototyping, or fabrication processes (academic, personal, or internship projects)
• Basic experience with CAD software (e.g., CREO, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Project management skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage with diverse stakeholders.
• Willingness to learn and accept feedback.
• Passion for mountain biking.

Responsibilities

• Technical Learning: Support mechanical and electrical design tasks under guidance from engineers.
• Innovation & Development: Assist with CAD modeling, drawing updates, and basic design documentation.
• Problem Solving: Perform basic analysis or calculations as assigned.
• Project Support: Participate in prototype builds, test setup, and teardown activities. Assist with data collection during lab and field testing. Support fabrication of prototypes and test hardware, including: o Basic machining operations (e.g., drilling, tapping, simple lathe/mill work) o Additive manufacturing (3D printing setup, part preparation, and post-processing) o Light electrical and electromechanical assembly, including basic soldering o Assembly and modification of fixtures, test rigs, and experimental hardware
• Collaboration & Communication: Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and technical discussions. Maintain organized records of work, observations, and results.
• Quality Assurance: Participate in testing and validation of new designs to ensure they meet required standards.
