About The Position

Jabil’s Engineering Internship Program has supported future innovators for over 30 years, welcoming undergraduate students to take their first steps into the manufacturing industry. As an intern, you’ll have a unique opportunity to engage with Jabil’s Manufacturing Technology & Innovation (MTI) department and participate in a variety of engineering and administrative activities focused on the research and development (R&D) of advanced manufacturing, process, and materials technology. You’ll collaborate with fellow interns to support an interdisciplinary team of engineers in a world-class R&D laboratory, contributing to process development, innovation thinking, and operational excellence. The Engineering Intern will assist the department in providing support to that area. In addition, they may be assigned specific projects either as part of, or in addition to, the day-to-day activities related to the assignment.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate student in pursuit of bachelor’s degree in engineering or related fields (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Materials, Industrial, Electrical, Chemical, Systems, etc.)
  • Undergraduate Freshmen, Sophomores, or Juniors enrolled in an ABET-Accredited Engineering Program (bachelor’s degree)
  • min 3.0 GPA
  • Must be available to work locally in San Jose, California from September 1st, 2025 – Aug 31st, 2026; 20 – 25 hours per week.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and public stakeholders.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer including using a Windows based operating system and related software.
  • Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Read and understand visual aid.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out to completion specific projects assigned by the Project or Department Manager.
  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
