About The Position

Assists Discipline Engineers, Project Engineers, Project Managers, and/or Engineering Manager with all aspects of the project engineering from proposal to final report by performing various engineering tasks. Internships will run from June – August

Requirements

  • Must be a shareholder of NANA Regional Corporation, Inc., or a direct descendant of a shareholder. In accordance with NANA's Shareholder Preference Hiring Policy, priority will be given to NANA shareholders first, followed by shareholder descendants.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must be currently enrolled in college or a vocational school full-time and have completed one semester of postsecondary education.
  • College sophomore level or higher with degree declared in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Project Management.
  • Intermediate skillset with MS Word processing software and MS Excel spreadsheet software. Some exposure to computer aided drafting and engineering software preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with employees and supervisor.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups of employees, clients and vendors
  • Must possess a strong team orientation and willingness to assist in any area outside of the normal scope of this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineers in research and analyzing of data such as client design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
  • Review project drawings, standards and specifications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Performs engineering calculations to support design and evaluation tasks.
  • Assists engineers with major equipment and material selection and development of construction specifications.
  • Use various engineering and design software to perform engineering tasks.
  • Ensure that all assigned activities and operations comply with applicable codes, regulations and laws.
  • Assist with the preparation of estimates, cost reports, forecasts, schedules, account codes, budgets and change orders.
  • Coordinate quantity estimates by obtaining and analyzing data on unit labor costs and unit material costs.
  • Updates estimates, schedules, reports, drawings and documents based on revisions and client comments.
  • Assists with preparation of project reports.
  • Conducts quality checks of databases, documents and reports, to verify accuracy of data, information, and calculations.
  • Assists in preparing, maintaining and filing of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff and company information.
  • Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
