About The Position

Constellation is seeking highly motivated engineering students for a paid internship in 2027 at its site in Stony Brook, New York. The approximately 10-week internship runs from June 7, 2027, through August 13, 2027, and is conducted in person. Interns work on specific projects to gain real-world, hands-on experience, working independently under an assigned supervisor and technical mentor. Only students currently attending SUNY Stony Brook should apply. This supervised position gives a college student interested in a power-industry career the opportunity to apply and develop knowledge of power plant operations. The intern works a normal day shift and reports to the Operations Manager.

Requirements

Be pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering at SUNY Stony Brook.
Be legally eligible to work in the United States now and in the future for any company.
Be willing to work outdoors and in field locations in a hands-on environment.
Be willing to adhere to plant safety standards, procedures, and practices.
Have a good comprehension of basic engineering practices.
Have good problem-solving and analytical ability.
Have strong computer skills, especially with spreadsheet and word-processing programs.
Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Have good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Be flexible and able to work harmoniously with others in a dynamic environment.
Be able to self-start and manage multiple simultaneous tasks and priorities.
Have reliable transportation to and from work.

Nice To Haves

Junior standing is preferred.

Responsibilities

Use plant data systems to access equipment and performance reliability information.
Update maintenance documentation and work management systems.
Assist plant staff with special projects as needed.
Enter plant asset information into Maximo.
Report to the site Operations Manager and follow day-to-day written and verbal instructions.
