About The Position

The Engineering Intern works closely with the engineering department to assist with technical projects, design tasks, manufacturing processes, analysis, and documentation to gain practical, hands-on industry experience in nuclear rotating equipment design, manufacturing, and refurbishment. This role follows specific instructions and procedures and is designed to provide learning opportunities in a structured environment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior in an accredited B.S. program in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles, calculations, and design software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and CAD tools.
  • Eagerness to learn and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for projects, including design, testing, and engineering calculations.
  • Assist in creating and modifying drawings or models using CAD software.
  • Support process improvement efforts.
  • Assist in creating technical reports, manuals, and documentation for projects.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams (quality, manufacturing) to solve problems.
  • Adheres to company and department policies, procedures, and standards
  • Supports, cooperates with, and participates in company-wide LEAN and Environmental Safety & Health (ESH) Management System which includes following all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Supports and cooperates in company-wide Quality Management effort.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
