Engineering Intern
About The Position
The Engineering Intern provides support for production related issues including blueprint drawing updates, design fit issues, tooling updates and CAD modeling of design updates. This role involves supporting production in the manufacturing of products, addressing day-to-day issues and clarifications, evaluating design alternatives from suppliers, troubleshooting issues, proposing alternatives, and executing the engineering change process. The intern will also support sales/service in product upgrades or customer requests, perform CAD modeling of design changes using SolidWorks with PDM for CAD vaulting, and engage in hands-on investigations and proposed solutions within a manufacturing environment.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- GPA of 2.7 or higher
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and solid modeling
- Demonstration of the following skills: organization, critical thinking, and teamwork
Responsibilities
- Support production in the manufacturing of products. Day to day issues and clarifications.
- Evaluate design alternatives from suppliers.
- Troubleshoot issues and propose alternatives.
- Execute engineering change process.
- Support sales/service in product upgrades or customer requests.
- CAD modeling of design changes. SolidWork with PDM for CAD vaulting.
- Manufacturing environment requiring hands on investigations and proposed solutions.
- Implement multiple manufacturing change requests. Number will be determined based on complexity.
- Assist in model layout updates in vault.
- Assist with completion of multiple Engineering Changes.
- Demonstrates a good attendance record; is aware of the impact that missing work will have on the customer as well as co-workers.
- Completes goals/projects on time or ahead of schedule.
- Responds to work assignments and requests by being cooperative and available.
- Follows through and meets commitments.
- Available as a resource to subordinates and/or peers.
- Follows safety procedures, protocols, policies, and adheres to all SAFESTART concepts, and acts when others are not holding themselves accountable.
