As a HIPP Engineering Intern/Co-Op, you will work as part of the engineering team, receiving assignments and training designed to provide increasing levels of responsibility and exposure to your engineering discipline through facility design.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering at North Carolina State University
  • Ability to complete the cooperative education program in accordance with NCSU's guidelines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong team skills are required but must also be able to work independently
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Performs assigned tasks under close supervision of Discipline Lead (DL), Engineering Lead (EL), or designer.
  • Receives specific and detailed instruction.
  • Learns and uses department standards, methods, and procedures respective to field of study.
  • Support of engineering and design needs for ongoing projects in design or in the field.
  • Prepares and modifies engineering drawings using computer-aided systems such as Revit.
  • Works with designer to develop preliminary sketches or schematics, layouts, details, and/or drawings.
  • Participates in company technical training to gain understanding of processes and knowledge of field.
  • Collaborates on projects to develop a plan for actions required to meet deadlines.
