About The Position

This opportunity resides with Uncrewed Systems (UxS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Uncrewed Systems comprises unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) and autonomy software. HII creates advanced unmanned solutions for defense, marine research and commercial applications. Serving customers in more than 30 countries, HII provides design, autonomy, manufacturing, testing, operations and sustainment of unmanned systems, including unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs) and unmanned surface vessels (USVs). Job Description Excellent opportunity to join an elite team in the development and testing of autonomous control software in Unmanned Systems. We are seeking talented people with computer programming skills to implement, test, and maintain software solutions written in C++. Working with the team and through individual efforts, you will be involved in the analysis and composition of requirements, design of architectural and component autonomy software features, design and implementation of the resulting software, design and implementation of test plans, and documentation of final product.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent + Must be working towards a Bachelor's degree with between 20% and 40% of the required credits completed.
  • Must be in commuteable distance to VA Beach, VA
  • Abitlity to obtain and maintain a government clearance #LI-MH1

Responsibilities

  • Support the Engineering team with engineering functions in one or more of the following specialties: electronics, electrical, mechanical, civil, naval, and/or chemical.
  • Assist with troubleshooting issues and provide technical support.
