About The Position

The Engineering & Facilities Maintenance Operations Manager will enable high performance of the supply chain facility by fostering a reliability-centered maintenance culture within their team that ensures high equipment availability and success for the operation of the supply chain facility. This role provides strong leadership to Maintenance Technicians, Utility Attendants, and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Software Technicians, cultivating a sense of urgency and quality focus. The manager will deliver solutions for challenging problems, work with building leaders to optimize the use of material handling equipment, manage external contractors, be on call for emergencies, handle multiple projects and daily activities, and meet tough timelines. A key aspect of this role is developing a continuous improvement ethic in the team through a daily process that is data-driven and focused on root cause elimination, thereby improving system reliability through ownership in defect handling, breakdown elimination, and planning/scheduling. Collaboration with other department leaders is essential to accomplish engineering and maintenance departmental goals. The role also involves leadership and development, coaching, and performance management of the team, including providing frequent constructive feedback, guidance, and direction, as well as administering performance management and reviews. Oversight of new hire onboarding and training, and support for team capability enhancement are also critical. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships across all levels of the organization is expected. The manager will own the accuracy and timeliness of performance metrics within their shift, develop and communicate shift hand-offs for continuity, and develop work plans for emergency repair of critical assets, overseeing the escalation process during downtime incidents. Acting as a safety ambassador, promoting safe working practices by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards, ensuring team commitment to safety procedures (Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc.) and PPE usage, and conducting safety investigations and incident after-action reviews are also key responsibilities. The role manages the overall health, reliability, and life cycle management for all site commodities, including material handling equipment, lighting, power distribution, backup generators, fire suppression and notification systems, balers, compactors, compressors, dock doors, HVAC, OTR trailer fleet, and Powered Industrial Truck fleet. Financial expenditures for parts are approved within corporate guidelines, and the quality of work performed by external contractors is validated. Requirements

  • 4- year degree in Engineering or related fields, or equivalent experience
  • Previous supervisory experience in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to read, interpret, and effectively communicate necessary policies and procedures
  • Ability to manage, lead, and influence others on a team while prioritizing multiple projects
  • Experience with multi-contractor management
  • Self-motivated and customer-centric
  • Excellent PC competency

  • Manage the overall health, reliability, and life cycle management for all of the site commodities (material handling equipment, lighting, power distribution, backup generators, fire suppression and notification systems, balers, compactors, compressors, dock doors, HVAC, Over The Road (OTR) trailer fleet, Powered Industrial Truck fleet).
  • Approve financial expenditures for parts within corporate guidelines.
  • Validate the quality of work performed by external contractors for repairs or projects.
  • Ensure data integrity and adherence to Asset Management standards.
