About The Position

The Engineering Development Program at TTM Technologies' Stafford, CT division offers a valuable opportunity for students to gain practical experience in a manufacturing setting. This program is designed for freshmen or sophomores pursuing engineering degrees. To remain in the program, students are required to work a minimum of three shifts per month after completing their initial training. The initial training period may require flexibility for up to 90 days on the first shift. Following training, participants will be assigned a minimum of three 12-hour weekend shifts per month, working Fridays through Sundays from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. The program progresses over three years: Year 1 involves supporting critical processing lines (Plating, Drill, Rout, Test) on the production floor to learn processes. Year 2 continues support of these lines and introduces support for Engineering projects, which may include automation development, Design of Experiments (DOE), and yield improvements, along with an introduction to Ignition and Andon systems. Year 3 focuses on supporting the implementation of former intern projects and undertaking entry-level Engineering projects assigned by the team, such as robot/PLC builds, SOP updates, traveler modifications, and through-put improvements.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a BS in Engineering or related discipline.
  • Completion of at least 12 college credits.
  • Ability to work 12 hours per shift.
  • Commitment to at least one shift per weekend and three weekends per month.
  • Must be able to safely lift 35 – 50 lbs.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Good reading vision, color discrimination, and hearing perception.
  • Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC.
  • Must be able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents.
  • Must understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL).
  • Must understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US.
  • Must manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
