About The Position

Pigler Automation is a growing industrial automation company looking to add a Controls Engineering Intern to our team. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced engineers on real-world automation projects that help power industries around the world. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering Technology, Or a related technical field
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Interest in industrial automation, controls engineering, or manufacturing technology
  • All candidates should be able to display a high level of self-motivation and be comfortable working in a collaborative team environment.
  • We are looking for someone who is curious, eager to learn, and takes pride in producing high-quality work.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to AutoCAD, eplan, or similar drafting software
  • Familiarity with PLCs, robotics, manufacturing systems, or automation technologies
  • Experience with programming concepts
  • Knowledge of electrical systems or controls
  • Experience with virtual machines, servers, or IT infrastructure
  • Participation in engineering clubs, projects, competitions, or internships

Responsibilities

  • Creating and updating AutoCAD electrical drawings
  • Assisting with panel layouts, rack layouts, and I/O documentation
  • Supporting engineering documentation and project deliverables
  • Assisting with virtual machine and internal infrastructure projects
  • Learning industrial automation concepts including PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems
  • Working alongside experienced engineers to support active customer projects
  • Participating in engineering reviews, team meetings, and project planning activities
