About The Position

Idaho Power is looking for an Engineering and Construction Project Manager or Senior to join their Planning, Engineering, and Construction team in Boise, Idaho. This role is crucial in managing transmission, distribution, and substation infrastructure projects that align with corporate objectives for system capacity, reliability, and financial performance. The position involves leading the development and execution of project plans, encompassing safety, scope, cost, schedule, cash flow, quality, and risk management for multi-discipline construction projects. The Project Manager will lead project teams, directing their performance to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, often managing multiple projects concurrently. A Senior Project Manager will also demonstrate advanced technical judgment and independent decision-making. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited institution, construction management, or related field OR Equivalent combination of education and experience in journeyman-level electric utility work, electric utility construction design, full-scope construction project management or electric utility construction project resource scheduling.
  • For Project Manager: 2 years of related project management or engineering experience.
  • For Senior Project Manager: 6 years of related project management or engineering experience, including at least 3 years of full-scope utility project management.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position.
  • Knowledge of general engineering, design, and construction principles related to the electric utility industry.
  • Knowledge of operating and maintenance principles and methods to the electric utility industry.
  • Knowledge of the latest methods, materials, estimating, and equipment used in construction.
  • Knowledge of Company specifications and regulations pertaining to the safe design, construction, operation, and maintenance of facilities.
  • Knowledge of project management practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills.
  • Team facilitation skills.
  • Various communication techniques, including effective written communication.
  • Budget and schedule development and management skills.
  • Project management and related project management software experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project Server or other project scheduling software, Microsoft Office products, GIS mapping applications, and Asset Suite.
  • Ability to read and understand engineered drawings and diagrams.
  • Ability to use good judgment in applying established guidelines to solving and resolving problems.
  • Ability to develop and analyze alternatives.
  • Ability to prepare written and oral reports.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Ability to conduct meetings, lead project teams, understand contracts, and facilitate internal and external project conflicts.
  • Ability to manage and track multiple project timelines, budgets, and forecasts.
  • For Senior Project Manager: PMP certification (or intent to pursue for Project Manager role).
