Under close supervision of a Professional Engineer, this position performs routine engineering projects or assignments; exercises limited judgment within defined methods, procedures, and practices. The Austin Transportation and Public Works (TPW) organization builds and maintains infrastructure for the community, with a vision for Austin to be the model for safe, reliable, and sustainable transportation. This role is essential to the Right of Way (ROW) Division and will manage the intake, completeness check, and workload assignment of Traffic Control Plans (TCPs) for work zones and special events within the City of Austin. It will also process and assign conflicting and shared work zone requests among TCP reviewers. The position ensures TCPs meet federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations, such as the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (TMUTCD) and The City of Austin’s Transportation Criteria Manual. Additionally, this role will handle the intake, response, and resolution of 311 Customer Service Requests (CSRs) related to the division, working with inspectors/enforcers. The position reports directly to the ROW Division Supervising Engineer and collaborates closely with ROW Engineering and Inspection Operations.
