The State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) is now accepting applications for Engineering and Construction Intern (State Intern) positions throughout the State! Our interns work in many different capacities agency-wide. Positions are available throughout the Bureau of Engineering and Construction. Internships available starting in September 2026, ending by May 31, 2027. Work around your class schedule on a part-time basis with remote work available! Positions are available in our District Construction offices, Central Construction office, Materials Evaluation and Specifications, Quality Assurance, Project Administration, Traffic Project Design, Traffic Safety, Traffic Signals, Highway Design, Bridge Design, Facilities and Transit, and more! Locations: New Haven, Newington, Norwich, Rocky Hill and Thomaston. In a state agency this class is established as a structured internship program designed to prepare undergraduate and graduate college students for professional careers in administration, managerial and technical occupations by alternating periods of academic study and practical work experience in their chosen discipline.
