About The Position

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an Engineering Aide Specialist to support manufacturing operations for their Electronics Manufacturing Center (EMC). The EMC supports all Lockheed Martin Space programs building spacecraft power and avionics equipment, including circuit card assemblies, electronic modules, and boxes. This role requires an organized individual with exceptional attention to detail, who can collaborate with manufacturing engineers, technicians, and other essential team members. It is considered an entry-level position, and the ideal candidate will be able to work independently, be a self-starter, and be dedicated in their efforts.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in a STEM related field, and/or Technical Training or related experience. Coursework completed towards a degree may be considered.
  • Understanding of electronics manufacturing equipment (programming, troubleshooting & maintenance).
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and define the manufacturing steps to meet all requirements.
  • Ability to decipher and follow various engineering specifications.
  • Able to comprehend and follow work instructions.
  • General computer skills (MS Office Suite Software).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with SAP/VE-CAMS/APRISO (Qnotes, Routings, Bills of material).
  • 0-2 years of aerospace or defense manufacturing experience.
  • Familiarity with defect trending or Statistical Process Control.
  • Hands on experience with solder, wiring, torque, epoxy bonding, and other electronics assembly processes.
  • Basic Experience Programming and operating equipment.
  • Basic experience in New Process development and experience validating processes for flight applications.
  • Understanding of Root Cause Analysis.
  • Familiarity of industry standards for electronic assembly requirements including IPC610 and J-STD-001.
  • Strong interpersonal skills both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineer drawings and create work instructions for technicians to support product build.
  • Support shop floor technicians in an automated processes environment.
  • Resolve work stoppages through equipment support, continuous improvement initiatives, defect disposition, and root cause analysis.
  • Create and manage relationships with a multi-disciplined team.
  • Conceptualize assembly using strong mechanical aptitudes, understanding of material properties, heat transfer, and structural properties.
