About The Position

The City of Napa is seeking two Engineering Aide/Senior Engineering Aide candidates to support important work in both Public Works and Utilities. These positions will work in various divisions within the Public Works and Utilities Department, supporting engineering, construction, development, and infrastructure projects. One position will focus on Construction (Public Works), primarily responsible for issuing Encroachment Permits, reviewing and issuing Transportation Permits, reviewing minor traffic control plans, and performing monthly utility billing for utility encroachment permits. The other position will focus on CIP (Utilities), providing technical and field support for Capital Improvement Program projects. Responsibilities may include preparing basic plans and designs using AutoCAD, assisting with traffic control and GPS-related activities, collecting field measurements, and supporting the development and implementation of utility infrastructure projects. This position will work both in the office and in the field and may assist with inspections, measurements, calculations, and other project-related activities. Positions are flexibly staffed and may be appointed at the Engineering Aide or Senior Engineering Aide level depending upon qualifications and experience.

  • 3.5% Salary Increase effective July 2027
