About The Position

Virginia Western Community College is seeking part-time Engineering Adjunct Faculty for the School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). These positions are appointed on a course-by-course, semester basis as needed. The faculty will teach college-level engineering courses either in-person on the main Virginia Western campus or in a hybrid format (online lectures with in-person labs). Faculty are expected to stay current in their teaching disciplines and in community college education trends, and to actively participate in departmental communication. Applications will be reviewed as needs arise and will continue until positions are filled or the posting closes.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering with significant relevant professional experience.
  • Experience teaching at the community college or university level is preferred.
  • Ability to teach in-person and/or hybrid course formats.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience teaching at the community college level.
  • Experience with online learning platforms and technologies.
